Lisbon is divided into several prominent neighborhoods: Baixa, Chiado, Bairro Alto, Alfama, and Belém. Each one of those is famous for its own heritage and architect. Nor that long ago two modern areas have taken the attention of tourists: Marquess of Pombal Square (Praça do Marquês de Pombal) and Park of the Nations (Parque das Nações).
Park of the Nations can be accessed by crossing the Vasco da Gama bridge, where people may enjoy the beauty of nature and calmness of the place by visiting the Water Gardens (Jardim das Águas) and the Palm Trees Garden.
Belém is the south-west region of Lisbon. Here tourists shall visit the Jerónimos Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jerónimos) and the Belém Tower (Torre de Belém).
Alfama is the cultural region of Lisbon, it is one of the oldest areas which can offer unique heritage and stunning architectural monuments. Tourists that are interested in Fado music, shall not miss out on the chance to visit the Fado Museum there.
Chiado is a Portuguese miniature of Paris, that is an elegant and bohemian neighborhood in Lisbon, which is located between Bairro Alto and Baixa Pombalina.
Bairro Alto, on the opposite, is quite modern and artistic area, which can offer a myriad of are cafes, restaurants and book corners.
And finally, Baixa is the most renovated area of Lisbon. To pass through that are the one shall go through the Restauradores Square, follow the path with the Avenida da Liberdade and reach the Praça Marquês de Pombal. This exact place is regarded as the actual beginning of the ‘Modern Lisbon'.
